Betty Lou Ferguson, 83, of Moberly passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. Betty was born November 19, 1933 to Virgil Lee and Anna Jane (Proctor) Avery in Moberly, Missouri. She married Harley D. Ferguson on May 27, 1950. She worked as an in home caregiver for many years. Betty enjoyed gardening, watching western movies, and country music. Her whole life was dedicated to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Ferguson; son, Paul Frederick Ferguson; daughter, Wanda Prewitt; grandson, Joseph Ferguson; great grandson, Bentley Wilson; great granddaughter, Cali Wilson; brothers: James Avery, William Avery, Virgil Avery, Winston Avery, and Howard Avery; sisters: Catheryn Gilispie, Oleta McCormick, Pauline Avery, Audra Imogene Burnette, Edna Sinclair, and Leona Bowman. Survivors include her sons: Harley W. (April Smyth) Ferguson of Higbee, Missouri, Denver (Sharon Leabo) Ferguson of Keytesville, Missouri, and Lyndon (Cindy) Ferguson of Clifton Hill, Missouri; daughters: Brenda (Pete) Fox of Keytesville, Missouri, Laurie (Mark Phelps) Hurt of Salisbury, Missouri, and Carla (Mike) Clark of Moberly, Missouri; 21 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly with Matthew Prewitt and Harold Prewitt officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Creek Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Boone Hospital Home Care and Hospice, 1605 E. Broadway-Suite 250, Columbia, Missouri 65201.
