Charles Wayne Williams

Charles Wayne Williams went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 19, 2021 entering thru the golden gates of Heaven. Charles passed on peacefully in his sleep being reunited with his wife who he dearly missed after she passed just a year ago. Charles was born on September 18, 1948 in Moberly, Missouri to Lewis Charles Williams and Myrtle Frances (Ornburn) Williams. He was a graduate of the Moberly Senior High School in 1969. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Sheila Jean Bentch on July 24, 1971. Charles served his country by joining the Navy in 1969 and was awarded the Vietnam campaign medal, the Vietnam service medal with 2 bronze stars. He was recognized for being responsible for the survival of his shipmates during a life threatening attack by the Vietcom by his shift actions and decisions as captain of his ship. Charles worked for 29 ½ years as an electrical engineer at Dura and Orschelns Industries. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, genealogy, bible studies, paracord creations, bush crafting and making his own fishing lures. Charles loved to spend time with his family and friends and loved playing pranks and fondly remembered for getting the last laugh. Charles is survived by his children: Aaron Williams of Higbee, MO, Jason (Suzanne) Williams of Moberly, MO, Jennifer (Chris) Campbell of Moberly, MO, and Nola (Alan) Moore of Jacksonville, MO. He is survived by several grandchildren: Meredith Campbell, Christopher Campbell, Julian Campbell, August Campbell, Eric Moore, Serinidy Williams, Jedidiah Williams, Josiah Williams, Silas Williams, and Judah Williams. He is also survived by brother David (Jody) Williams of Moberly, MO and sister Barbara (Robert) Scholle of Kirksville, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents: Lewis Charles Williams and Myrtle Frances (Orburn) Williams, his wife Sheila Jean (Bentch) Williams, brother Alvin Lewis Williams, brother Jeffery Lee Williams and sister Nancy Ruth (Williams) Adams. Charles was a gentle soul with a brilliant mind. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. 2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and present with the Lord. Celebration of Charles life will be December 28 at 1 PM at Sweet Spring Baptist Church located at 1027 County Road 2445 Huntsville MO 65259. Visitation from 12-1. Service will be followed by a graveside service at Hagar Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to Veterans Hospital.
