Hilda A. Torri

Hilda A. Torri, 83, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Ravenwood Terrace, Moberly, Missouri. Hilda was born June 23, 1936, in Higbee, Missouri to Russell and Jenny Grace (Sumpter) Pitney. On December 25, 1951, she married Hugo Torri. She and Hugo just celebrated 68 years of marriage. Hilda enjoyed going to auctions and spending time with her family and friends. She loved her basset hounds. She was of the Baptist faith and in October of 2017, she reaffirmed her faith in Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Joe Daiprai. Survivors include her husband, Hugo Torri of Moberly, Missouri; sister, Linda Daiprai of Moberly, Missouri; sister-in-law, Ethel Torri of Higbee, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and many friends. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly, Missouri. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Bill Spilman officiating. After services, cremation will be accorded by Million Taylor Funeral Homes and inurnment will take place at Higbee City Cemetery, Higbee, Missouri, at a later date. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Coyote Hill Christian Children’s home. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Hilda A. Hilda and I were cousins. We started first grade together at Higbee School. We always sat by each other in grade school because we had the last name. So we always got in trouble together. I visited with Hilda about a month ago. We talked about old times and old friends. She still had that sweet smile and laugh even though she was in pain.

I remember her and Hugo,they loved their dogs so much.She was always kind to everyone,and always had a smile.We would walk by her house and she talked to us.Always asked how everyone was doing .
