Jerry Martin Dougherty, 81, of Clark, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Jerry was born February 9, 1937 in Renick, Missouri, to John Martin and Edith (Brandow) Dougherty. He and Emma Joan Ridgeway were married on March 16, 1972. He served in the United States Army. Jerry retired from the Kansas City Southern Railroad where he spent his career as a laborer and a flagman. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, gardening, and his cows. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joseph Dougherty; his father, Johnny; mother, Edith and step mother, Helen. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Joan Dougherty of Clark, Missouri; sons: Mike (Brenda Armstrong) Dougherty of Moberly, Missouri along with children: Ally Armstrong, Chris Armstrong and Emily Armstrong, Jamie (Heather) Dougherty of Clark, Missouri along with their children: Brooklyn, Jackson, Johnathon, Mallorie, and Jameson Dougherty; daughter, Melissa (Rodney) Boots of Moberly, Missouri along with their children: Hunter and Emma Boots; sister, Janet Myers of Higbee, Missouri; as well as nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Robb officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Million Taylor Funeral Homes.
