Reta Mae Yates, 94, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away on December 10, 2020, at Moberly Nursing and Rehab. Reta was born December 26, 1925, in Schuyler County, Missouri, to Albert and Allie E. (Seamster) Hofen. During her working years, she was a cashier for Wal-Mart for 20 years. She was a member of Jefferson Avenue Methodist Church and a former member of Fort Henry Extension Club. Reta enjoyed going out to eat with her special friends, crafting and making sock monkey's. She also did ceramics, quilting and embroidery. Reta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey Dale Yates; daughter, Sharon Jackson; brother, Edwin Hofen; and nephew, Phillip Hofen. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Perrin of Blue Springs, Missouri; son, Don Yates and wife Wilma of Kirksville, Missouri; son-in-law, Don Jackson of Huntsville, Missouri; sister-in-law, Karen Hofen of Apache Junction, Arizona; close friend, Charlie Martin of Moberly, Missouri; grandchildren: Mike (Sara) Jackson of Moberly, Missouri, Lynn (Gregg) McAlpin of Columbia, Missouri, Troy (Pamela) Dailey of Terrell, Texas, Tamara (Victor) Price of Columbia, Missouri, Jason Yates and Betsy Yates of Des Moines, Iowa; great-grandchildren: Harper Dailey, Matthew Price, Allison McAlpin, Victoria McAlpin, Katie Jackson, Jacob Jackson, Hallie Yates and Conrad Yates; nephew, Brian (Deliece) Hofen of Olathe, Kansas; and great-nephews, Braden and Zachery. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Jim Crooks officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. Due to our sensitive demographic of visitors the wearing of face masks will be required to be worn and social distancing practices will be requested when possible during both visitation and funeral.
