Bessie Cleo Roberts

Bessie Cleo Roberts, age 75, of Paris, MO, walked through the gates of Heaven surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Moberly Regional Medical Center, Moberly, MO.

Bessie was born on December 13, 1949, in Iberia, MO, to Violet I (Riedesel) and Therman E Beal. She graduated from high school in Iberia, MO, and worked as a nurse’s aide and a waitress. She was a member of the Southern Randolph Christian Chapel in Higbee, MO. Bessie married Jack Dean Zike on January 16, 1972, in Columbia, MO, and later married Jimmy Roberts on September 13, 1979, in Higbee, MO.

Bessie was a highly regarded member of the community, would help anyone in need, enjoyed various activities, and most of all spending time with family. She was deeply loved by everyone. She will be greatly missed, but will live forever in our hearts and memory as she walks into eternity with the Lord.

Her family and friends will always remember Bessie as someone who always had a smile and brought the room to laughter.

Bessie is preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Curtis Beal.

She is survived by two children Jackie Llyod (Sharon K.) Zike and Rebecca Joy (Dennis) Fernandez; three step sons, Michael Zike, Timothy Zike, and Donald Zike; one step daughter, Beverly Ancell; grandchildren, Christopher Don Hedrick, Anthony Fernandez; many other grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two sisters, Hazel Beal and Ruby Deitze.

Bessie has spent the last few years residing at Miller Resident Care in Paris, Mo where she was deeply loved by her fellow residents and staff members.

A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon with Interment following the service at Higbee City Cemetery.
