Beverly Ann Bohannon McEuis "Bev", 81, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at the Helping Hearts and Hands Hospice Home in Columbia after suffering a severe head injury from a fall two weeks earlier.
Bev was born on August 6, 1945, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Jessie and Ruby Bohannon. She was the youngest of three daughters. Her family later moved to Concord, California, where, at the age of twelve, she met the love of her life. Darrel, who was fourteen. They first met in her parents' home because Darrel's older brother was dating Bev's older sister. Their friendship blossomed into a romance that continued throughout their high school years. At the time, Darrel and his family lived about five miles away in Pittsburg, California.
On November 18, 1962 while Bev was still a senior in high school, she and Darrel were married and began their life together in an apartment in Pittsburg, CA. Bev graduated from Clayton Valley High School in 1963. The following year, they welcomed their first child, Karen, and two years later their son, Michael, was born while they were living in Concord.
Throughout her working years, Bev held a variety of jobs. Early in her marriage, she worked for the Board of Realtors in Orville, California. She later worked at several banks and eventually operated a successful cleaning business with her sister. Bev took great pride in her work and was well known for her exceptional cleaning skills and for maintaining a spotless, well-organized home.
Bev enjoyed collecting Untied States postage stamps, sewing, and building an impressive collection of birdhouses. She especially loved spending time walking her beloved dog, Theodore Edward, affectionately knows as "Tedward," whom she had adopted from her sister. A devoted animal lover, Bev had a tender heart for all creatures and could never understand anyone harming innocent animals.
In 2001, Bev and Darrel moved to Columbia, Missouri, to be closer to their special needs grandchild, whom they later adopted. In 2016, they began attending Open Heart Baptist Church in Columbia, where Bev found a warm, and welcoming church family that quickly became dear to her.
Above all, Bev was a devoted student of God's word. She possessed an unquenchable thirst for understanding the Bible and was never afraid to ask the difficult questions that others often hesitated to voice. She loved deeply, spoke honestly, and lived with conviction. Her faith shaped every aspect of her life, and she cared fiercely for those she loved-especially her husband, Darrel; her son, Michael; and her granddaughter, Kelly.
In 2021, Bev and Darrel moved to Moberly as the drive to Columbia became increasingly difficult. Although they left behind many cherished friends, they remained especially grateful for Bonnie Lee, who faithfully stayed in touch with Bev through her time in hospice and continues to be a source of comfort and support to Darrel and the entire family.
In 2024, Bev and Darrel began attending the Moberly Seventh- day Adventist Church after receiving a flying in the mail advertising a prophecy seminar. Their love for God's truth and desire to grow in their faith led them to become members of the church in September 2025. Bev's warm personality and genuine kindness quickly endeared her to her new church family, whose love, prayers, and support have been a tremendous blessing to Darrel during this difficult time.
Bev is survived by her husband Darrel McEuin; her son Michael and his wife Angela; and daughter Karen; grandchildren Kelly, Daisy, Cameron, and Isabella; and Nephew Robert Hall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Ruby Bohannon; and sisters Janice and Carol.
Bev will be remembered for her sense of humor, her unwavering love for her husband of 64 years, and her family and friends, and above all, her deep love for God. She continually hungered and thirsted after His righteousness and truth, and her steadfast faith left a lasting testimony to all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the blessed hope of Christ's soon return, when they look forward to seeing her again.
