He was a 1960 graduate of Cairo High School where he participated in track, student council and chorus. He was a member of the Woodville Baptist Church and a life time member of the NRA. He worked for Double Cola, Sherwood’s Sausage (Cairo) and 21 years for Rainbo Bread before he had an automobile accident in 1986 that left him paralyzed for 30 years. He was an inspiration by rarely complaining despite the challenges caused by his paralysis. He loved to call on the phone to keep in touch with family and friends or to pass on a joke.
