Carol Ann Webb Brower passed away on May 29, 2026.
Carol was born on February 14, 1949, in San Bernardino, California, to Lewis and Florence Webb. Over the course of 77 years, she watched the world become faster, smaller, louder, and infinitely more complicated. Along the way, Orwell and Bradbury occasionally seemed uncomfortably accurate, and humanity never quite managed to agree on the meaning of life — even when someone helpfully suggested it was 42. So it goes.
One thing that remained consistent throughout Carol's life was her belief that education mattered. She spent years helping adults prepare for and pass the HiSET (GED) examination, proving that learning doesn't come with an expiration date. That same belief extended beyond the classroom and into the horse world, where she had a knack for connecting people and horses. Regardless of a person’s background or circumstances, Carol believed everyone deserved the chance to know a good horse and experience the lessons that come from spending time in the saddle. Throughout Belle and Atina's childhood, she worked at Planned Parenthood and Moberly Area Community College. Later, she worked at the Scholastic Call Center until retirement.
She is survived by her daughters, Arrabella (Eric) Orscheln and Atina (Shawn) Roberts; her grandchildren, Ellenna (Jordan Mark) Orscheln, Ethan (Madison) Orscheln, Ashley Ratliff, Kendra (Justin) Yaukey, Catelyn (JT Baysinger) Roberts, and Martina Roberts; her great-grandchildren, Dalton Ratliff, Ethan Ratliff, Korbin Lampkin, Chase Ellis, Carlena Shimek, Chloe Shimek, Ezekiel Orscheln, Zaeder Church, Arybella Ivy, and Atlas Ivy; her brother, David (Sue) Webb; her sisters, Robina (George) Gallagher and Laura (Mark) Webb-O'Neal; along with extended family and friends.
Her grandchildren are creating lives that stretch well beyond the boundaries of Randolph County. From Saskatchewan to Arkansas and many places in between, they are building homes, chasing adventures, preserving history, serving their communities, raising families, pursuing education, and following passions ranging from horses to public service. Each is working to find their own piece of the world to call home while carrying forward the
determination and independence that have long run through the family.
A private family farewell will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Randolph County 4-H Horsemanship Program, 509 W. Reed St., Moberly, Missouri 65270.
The family appreciates the thoughts and prayers of those who have reached out during this time.
