Catherine Ann Eads

Catherine Ann Eads, 78, of Moberly, MO, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Cathy was born on December 7, 1947, in Hannibal, MO, to Roy and Margaret Hemmer. She attended St. Johns Lutheran School in Hannibal and then Moberly Public Schools, graduating in 1965. She furthered her education by attending Moberly Junior College (now MACC), LSU, and finally graduating from Northeast Missouri State College (Now Truman State) in 1970.

After ending employment at Little Dixie Regional Libraries in 1972, Cathy began teaching English at Moberly High School. In 1994 she became the librarian at MHS, a position she held until her retirement in 2000. After two years of part time employment in the library of the Renick RV School District, Cathy began a career as a branch office administrator with Edward Jones, retiring there in 2018 after 16 years. 

Cathy is survived by her son, Matthew; her granddaughter, Cianna; brother and sister in law John and Toni Hemmer; nephews Eric (Alison) Hemmer and Brad (Jenny) Hemmer; great nephews, Braden, Chase and Knox, and a great niece Marley. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Zion Lutheran Church in Moberly would be appreciated. 

Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at a visitation to be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services honoring Cathy's life will follow at 11:00 a.m. A private inurnment will occur at a later date.
