Costello Thorpe

Costello Thorpe, 93, of Moberly, passed away December 1, 2016 at Meadow Ridge Estates. Costello was born December 15, 1922 in Louisville, Kentucky. He married Ruth Thorpe in Boonville, Indiana on December 31, 1943 and she preceded him in death. Ruth and Costello had lived in the Moberly area for over thirty years. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Lake Champlain in Key West Florida from 1942 until 1945. Costello was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth and three brothers. He is survived by his two daughters Lea Anne Courter and Cindy (Phil) Harrison all of Moberly; grandchildren Patrick Harrison of Moberly and Sarah (Lyle) Monzyk of Colorado; great grandchildren Kennedi Harrison of Texas and Sophia and Soren Monzyk both of Colorado. Graveside service will be Monday, December 5, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Oakland Cemetery in Moberly, MO. Visitation will be from 11:00 until 11:45 a.m. at which time there will be a Masonic Rites service. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the Salvation Army, 501 Rollins Street, Moberly, MO 65270 or the Moberly School District Buddy Backpack Program, 926 Kwix Road, Moberly, MO 65270.
