Darlene Belle Huffman

Darlene Belle Huffman, age 82 of Excello, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024 at her home.

Darlene was born on July 25, 1941 in Anabel, Missouri to Nina and David Dunaway and was one of seven siblings. She married Benard Huffman in December of 1959. She is survived by two sons, Kevin Huffman of Shawnee, Kansas and David Huffman of Columbia, Missouri; one brother, Clifford Dunaway of Macon, Missouri, and her faithful companion Koko. She was preceded in death by Bernard, her parents, one sister, and four brothers.

Darlene spent over thirty years working for the United States Postal Service; serving at offices in Excello, Jacksonville and Cairo, Missouri. During her working years she made quite a number of very good friends and acquaintances.

After retirement Darlene spent time with Bernard on the family farm where she gardened, sewed, and created some of the most delicious foods one could imagine. She had a passion for yard and garage sales and loved the social aspect of them; making new acquaintances and enjoying time with close friends and family. She was always quick with a smile, blessed with a beautiful sense of humor, and the door was always open with a cup of coffee at the ready.
