Douglas (Doug) Ray Barnes

April 20, 1986 — July 15, 2025

Moberly

Douglas (Doug) Ray Barnes passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the age of 39.

Doug was born in Landstuhl, Germany, to Larry Dale Barnes and Tammy Lee (Barnes) Teel on April 20, 1986, and raised on a U.S. Army base for the first few years of his life. He grew up predominantly in Columbia, MO, where on August 1, 2005, he met Catherine (Katie) Dara Spencer. She would later become his wife on March 9, 2019. Together, they had two beautiful children, Damion Ray Barnes and Savannah Lin Marie Barnes.

Doug had many business ventures over the years but all of them were simply a means to provide for his passion, his family. No matter what your background was, Doug would bring you into his family and there you would stay. Doug had his family by blood and by marriage but that was far from his only family, he also belonged to a motorcycle club named Sin City MC. The members of his MC were his family too. Doug had a passion for riding with his brothers but more importantly, he had a passion for riding with his wife who he lovingly nicknamed “Bubbles” while he was “Big Red”.

Doug was a man that no matter what, he would be there for you if you needed him. When someone he considered family called, he was on his bike headed to you for whatever he could do.

Doug was proceeded in death by many loved ones, but the survivors are the ones who are left here to mourn him. However, if he could say one thing to all of those left behind, he’d say to “suck it up and cheer up”. He wouldn’t want us mourning, he would want us to celebrate. He would want his family to be happy that what he loved was what took him.

Doug is survived by his wife, Katie; two children, Damion Ray and Savannah Lin Marie Barnes; his brother, Peter Allen (Risë Kaye ) Barnes-Keyes; niece and nephew, Amara Lynn and Brycon Zachariah Barnes-Keyes; mother, Tammy Lee Teel; father, Larry Dale Barnes; three stepsisters; many nieces, nephews, friends and family.

A family led service will be held at a later date.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, 411 Union Avenue, Moberly, MO 65270 (660)263-7284. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.pathwaymemorial.com.
