Edith Vernice Howard

Edith V. Howard, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Edith was born on August 1, 1945, in Decatur, Illinois, to Samuel and Louise Lovett. She graduated from Sturgeon High School in 1963 and went on to earn her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) degree from Moberly Area Community College. Edith devoted more than 25 years to caring for others, working in several hospitals and nursing homes throughout her nursing career.

On June 1, 1963, she married Robert Howard. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and lasting memories.

Edith especially loved the holidays, cherishing every opportunity to gather with her family and celebrate the traditions that brought everyone together. She will be remembered for her caring heart, quiet strength, and the love she shared with those closest to her.

She is survived by her son, Rick Howard; her daughter, Jackie Howard; and her cherished grandchildren, Cody Howard, Tasha McConnell and Dakota Howard.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Howard; and her parents, Samuel and Louise Lovett.

Edith’s memory will be treasured by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Moberly, MO.
