Edith J. Williams, 76 of Moberly, Mo passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation. Edith was born on June 19, 1940 in Sturgeon, MO to Willard Palmer and Margaret Ginn Palmer. Edith had been a Moberly resident for over 40 years and a member of St. James Baptist Church in Sturgeon. She worked production line assembly for Dura Automotive until her retirement. She enjoyed fishing and watching “The Young and the Restless”. Edith also loved to cook. Her family and friends will always remember her peach cobbler and her chitterlins. Those preceding Edith in death are her parents, her husband Orion Williams; siblings, Robert Ginn, Ruby Banks and Julia Davis; and longtime friend, Chester Fugate. Survivors include her sister, Leona Tydings of Columbia, MO; children, Sandra (Gregory) Robinson, of Moberly, LaWanda (Robert Blanks) Ginn of Rock Island, IL, Jerry Williams and Jeffrey Williams both of Moberly, MO, Kathy (Richard) Jones of Columbia, MO, William Floyd (Becky) Williams of Columbia, MO, Jimmy (Nikki) Williams of Huntsville, AL and Rebecca (Marcus) Williams of Columbia, MO; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, extended family and many friends. Services celebrating Edith’s life will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the American Cancer Society, 2926 E. Battlefield Rd., Springfield, MO 65804.
