George Henry Lampe, age 90, of Moberly, MO, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Ravenwood Terrace Assisted Living.
George Henry was born May 19, 1935, in Bynumville, Missouri. He was the only son of David LaVern Lampe and Laura Lucille Dowell. He was united in marriage to Nola Lynn Clark on June 10, 1966, in Prairie Hill, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2023.
George entered the Army in 1958 and served until 1964. He was an armored tank driver and mechanic, stationed in Germany. While in Germany he was stationed in the same area as Elvis Presley. He then entered the Navy in 1964 to finish his enlistment of seven years. George was stationed on the USS Constellation CVA 64 and was an HVAC technician.
After his military service he moved back to the family farm in Keytesville, MO and was a farmer and a jack of all trades. He worked for Linneman's applicance for 32 years. After retirement he helped build churches and installed HVAC in tent meetings.
He is survived by his two sons LaVern Russell Lampe (Athena) of Moberly, MO, and George Edward Lampe of Columbia, MO. Two grandchildren, David Russell Lampe and Jennifer Ann (Joe) Desmandgles both of Moberly, MO.
George was a loving husband, father and grandfather, but most of all he loved God.
Graveside services are scheduled on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO, with full military honors. Following services a luncheon will be held at Glad Tidings Assembly, 1440, Highway JJ, Moberly, MO, 65270.
