George Spears

George Michael Spears, 64, of Moberly, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at University of Missouri Hospital. Mike was born September 3, 1953 in Kansas City, MO to George Marion and Betty Jane Meyer Spears. Mike attend junior college at Moberly Area Community College. From there he moved on to Northeast Missouri State University where he received a Master’s of Psychology Degree. To round out his education, Mike received a Master’s of Social Work Degree from Missouri State University in Columbia. Mike worked for many years in the social service field, primarily working with children. On July, 3, 1979 Mike married Andrea Strawn in Las Vegas, NV. Together they shared 39 wonderful years of marriage. Mike belonged to the Randolph County Saddle Club and in his free time he enjoyed trail riding and playing with his pets and horses. He was preceded in death by his parents and his half-brother John Spears. He is survived by his wife Andrea; his siblings, Dennis (Cathy) Spears of North Kansas City, Mo and Patty Bunce of Cairo, Mo; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Services for Mike will be held Monday, February 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of service.
