Geraldine Kathryn Carr

Geraldine “Geri” Kathryn Carr, 84, of Huntsville, Missouri, passed away May 1, 2026, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, surrounded by her loving husband and children.

Geri was born March 24, 1942, in Louisiana, Missouri, to Arthur Avoldt Erdman and Vivian Allie Brown. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a pioneer in bringing the gospel to her family. She faithfully and wholeheartedly served in many callings in the church.

She married Michael Carr on November 25, 1973, in Moberly, Missouri, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 7, 1977. Michael lovingly referred to her as his “hot foxy lady,” a nickname that began the day they met.

Geri was known for her energy, strong work ethic, and love for others. She enjoyed gardening, walking, swimming, reading, attending concerts, and supporting her children and grandchildren in their activities. She was especially known for her "sweet tooth" and for making sure her grandchildren were well supplied with treats.

She will be remembered for her bright smile, her hardworking nature, and her fierce love and service to others.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Carr; her children, Kathryn Kelly (Darren), Laurie Legar (Bert), David Carr, Vivian Kirk (Spencer), Alisha Hubbard (Michael), and Daniel Carr (Jamie); as well as 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sheila; her brother, Phil; and her son, James.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11th, at 11:30 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1049 County Road 2310, Moberly, Missouri.

A private family graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Route 79, Louisiana, Missouri.
