Gladys Mae Major

Gladys Mae Major, 94, of Moberly, Missouri, died on July 13, 2021, at Loch Haven Senior Living Community, Macon, Missouri. Gladys was born November 7, 1926, in Monroe County, Missouri, to James Burton and Mattie Mae (Utterback) Swetnam. After retiring from her position as an income maintenance case worker, Division of Family Services, Missouri Department of Social Services, shopping and traveling were favorite activities. She also enjoyed watching men’s college basketball, even if the games were re-runs, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Murl Major, son Ryan Major, and brother-in-law Bob Luker. Survivors include her sister Wilma Luker of Washington, Missouri; daughter Cynthia (David) Yenches of Moberly; grandsons Jeff (Lisa) Major of Madison, Missouri, and Dominick (Rocio) Yenches of Bay Point, California; great-grandchildren Krysta, Destiny, Dani, Dakota, Anna, and Alexander; and great-great-granddaughters Lily and Addisen.
