Glenda Ellen Crutchfield

Glenda Ellen Birge Crutchfield, 86, of Huntsville, MO went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 22, 2025. She passed peacefully at her home, Brook Cherith Assisted Living.

Glenda was born on March 20, 1939 in Boonville, MO to Alfred Stanley Birge and Sarah Olive “Stevens” Birge. She was born again at nine years of age and lived a life dedicated to serving her Lord. She was a member of King James Baptist Church in Moberly. Glenda was active in several churches throughout her life where she taught Sunday School, training union classes, and youth groups, directed Vacation Bible Schools in various churches, as well as played the piano. Glenda enjoyed painting, crafting, quilting, gardening, camping and fishing. She taught numerous art classes in her home and at Heritage Christian Academy. She also painted the baptistry scenes at Grace Baptist Church and King James Baptist Church.

Glenda was united in marriage to David Noland Crutchfield, Jr. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on May 30, 1957. They have 4 children.

Those preceding Glenda in death are her beloved husband, David Crutchfield, Jr.; her parents, Stanley and Sarah Birge; her two brothers and one sister, Eddie Birge, Russell Birge and Myrtle Irene; one great-granddaughter, Lucy Arabella McElyea; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law.

Rusty (Melanie) Crutchfield of Huntsville, MO; Dava (Pastor Scott) McElyea of Phoenix, NY; and Sherri (Lonnie) Kallmeyer of Huntsville, MO; her grandchildren, Chantry (Julie) Crutchfield of Clifton Hill, MO; Joshua (Katy) Crutchfield of Clifton Hill, MO; Tabitha (Kurtis) Arnett of Paris, MO; Richard (Karen) Crutchfield of Jefferson City, MO; Travis (Amanda) Crutchfield of Holt Summit, MO; James (Britney) McElyea of Baldwinsville, NY; Jeremiah (Robyn) McElyea of Orland, ME; Jessica McElyea of Meriden, CT; Alisha Maples of Huntsville, MO; Kayla Maples of Huntsville, MO; Jeremy (Kelley) Kallmeyer of Jefferson City, MO; Ryan Kallmeyer of St. George, UT; 31 great-grandchildren; a very special nephew Art (Denise) Crutchfield of Huntsville, MO; her sister, Sandra (Francis) Burris of Camdenton, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
