Grayson Prather

Grayson Ray Prather, was born May 3, 2016 in Columbia, MO to Shelby Johnston and Austin Prather. He spent the first six months of his life at the University of Missouri Women’s and Children’s Hospital before being transferred to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE where he passed away November 19, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was such a blessing! Grayson loved to be held by his parents while watching “Finding Nemo.” His parent’s mantra for him was “Just Keep Swimming!” During his short time here, he had several girlfriends from the nursing pool and also drew a ton of followers to his facebook page. He will be greatly missed by so many. Grayson is preceded in death by his grandpa, Richard Johnston. Survivors include his parents, Shelby Johnston and Austin Prather of Moberly, MO; grandparents, Jimmy and Carol Prather and Joanie Young all of Cairo, MO; aunt, MaKayla Young of Moberly, MO; uncles, Dylan Johnston, Aaron Prather, Andrew and Emma Prather, Kelle James Prather and Tanner Prather all of Cairo; first cousin, Abbi Rae Prather and many extended family members and fans. Services celebrating Grayson’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held the same day from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations of blankets and stuffed animals that they can donate to the University of Missouri Women’s and Children’s Hospital for their Neonatal Intensive Care unit.
