Gregory James Lee, 61, of Columbia, MO, passed away at his home April 2, 2019 surrounded by his family. Greg was born in Springfield, IL on May 22, 1957 to Gerald Lee and Patricia Koch Lee. In younger years, he attended St. Ann Catholic Church in Normandy, MO. He was a graduate of Normandy High School and later took some business management courses. In 1981 went to work at Harlan as a maintenance manager. He later worked for Holiday Inn Express for four years and then for Lake St. Louis Country Club as a maintenance manager. He also provided quality control for both businesses and was always willing to do whatever the job required. He was a master chef; he enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb, and was a huge NASCAR fan. Greg was very creative, often piecing together bits and pieces of things to make something useful. He always had fun with whatever project he was working on and he always kept himself busy. Greg was preceded by his parents. He is survived by his significant other, Mardella of the home; children, Jamie (Rich) Russell, Wentzville, Ryan (Anna) Lee, St. Peters; grandchildren, Kayley Russell and Kaiden Russell of Wentzville, Duke Lane of Chicago and Alina Lee who is expected July 2019; siblings, Linda (Chris) Layton of Chesterfield and Rick (Lisa) Lee of South Carolina; nieces and nephews, Anna and Kimberly Layton of Chesterfield and Michael (Katie) Lee and Katie Lee of South Carolina; extended family, Kandi (Jimmy) Million, Cole, Chelsey, Caleb, Katie, Kiah, Konner, Colton and Isabelle all of Moberly and Greg’s cat Kitty, along with numerous friends. Funeral services for Greg will be held Friday, April 5, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to The National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, Box 1848 Longmont, CO 80502.
