Helen Faith Johnston, 97, of Madison, MO passed away at 6:55 a.m. Sunday April 3, 2011 at Moberly Nursing and Rehab in Moberly. Mrs. Johnston was born June 12, 1913 near Newark, MO and was the daughter of James William and Maude Belle (Bryant) Frisbee. She lived with her parents near Bethel, MO and North of Clarence before settling near Woodlawn. She attended high school at Duncans Bridge.
In 1930 Helen married Cromeritta (Mert) Johnston, her husband of 64 years, who preceded her in death on May 13, 1994. In addition to being a mother and homemaker, Mrs. Johnston was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where she served as a Bible teacher for over 50 years. In the early years she had an opportunity to work for a short time in a county office at Paris. She also was a charter member of the Woodlawn Extension Club and a devoted 4-H Club Leader.
