Irene Marie (Doran) Cota, 88, of Moberly, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Moberly Regional Medical Center. Irene was born March 13, 1928 in Dover, NH to Dorothy May (Briggs) Doran and William J. Doran. She married Francis Benjamin Cota on April 10, 1948 in Everett, MA and to this union one daughter was born, Sandra Marie. Irene and Frank made their home in Troy, NH where they both worked at Troy Mills. They later moved to Keene, NH where they remained until Frank’s death in 1989. Irene moved to Moberly, MO in 1990 where she remained. She had a simple life on Burkhart Street caring for grandchildren, watching T.V. and doing crossword puzzles until her eyesight failed. She enjoyed the front porch visits from her neighbors. She loved watching her family grow and never ceased being amazed at having so many grandchildren from just one daughter. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, her parents and her husband. Survivors include her daughter, Sandi and husband Phil Smyser; grandchildren, Shelly Easton and husband Barry, Lori Smyser, Phillip Smyser II, and Katie Hinkle and husband Darrin; great-grandchildren, Amanda (Dutton) Stewart, Robbie Dutton, Danielle Dutton, Haley Johnson, Cody Johnson, Riley Smyser, Delaney Smyser, Cory Hinkle and Garrett Hinkle and nine great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Robert Leahy and wife Marilyn of NH and nieces, Susan (Leahy) Tannenbaum and Robin (Leahy) English and families of N.Y. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
