Isla E. Wickes,103, passed away Monday June 27, 2011 at Loma Linda Health Care in Moberly.
Mrs. Wickes was born April 28, 1908 in Steamboat Springs, CO to James E. and Grace O. Roberts Goff. She married Lee Conner April 18, 1927 and later married James Edwin (Bud) Wickes on November 15, 1941. Both preceded her in death.
Isla worked for the Brown Shoe Company off and on for 30 years until it closed. She was a life long member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Cyril, Russell, Archie, Ralph, Charles and Cyrus Goff; sister Juanita Goff; infant son Robert Lee Conner, daughter Reba Stoecklein Osborne, granddaughter Judy Westfall, two great-grandchildren, Patrick and Anita Hagedorn and three son-in-laws Bernard Stoecklein, Clarence Cable and Hershel Osborne.
Surviving are her children Mary O. Cable and William E. (Bill) and Reba Conner of Moberly, brothers Burl Goff, Huntsville, Earl Goff Sperry, OK; sisters, Margaritte Crutchfield, Huntsville and Pauline...
