Jamie Lee Bailey, 83, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 25, 2026. He was born on July 23, 1942, in Kirksville, Missouri, to Manford and Birdie (Brown) Bailey. He married Rena C. Bailey on November 21, 1964, in Atlanta, Missouri, where together they raised a family and made countless memories together.

Jamie graduated from Atlanta High School and spent a year at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. In 1970, he moved to Huntsville, Missouri, where he began his career as a Breakman on the N and S Railroad where he dedicated more than 28 years to this role. Additionally, Jamie worked for several years delivering medicine for Sam’s Health Mart as well as Kribbs Pharmacy until he retired.

Throughout his life, Jamie was a social and active man. He took great pride in serving his community, having been elected as a councilman in the city of Huntsville. His commitment to local youth was evidenced by his years as a baseball coach for the Peewee league, where he inspired countless children to enjoy the game.

Family was at the heart of Jamie’s life. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His fun-loving nature and love for practical jokes made him a beloved figure in the lives of those who knew him. Jamie had a variety of interests that included fishing, watching softball and other sports, and spending leisurely moments solving crossword puzzles.

A member of the United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Missouri, Jamie's faith played an important role in his life and shaped his values. He will be remembered for being a great family man who embraced life with humor and love, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jamie is survived by his loving wife, Rena of Huntsville, MO; Son, Shane (Terry) Bailey of Millersburg, MO, and Son, Chad (Tonia) Bailey of Camdenton, MO. Grandchildren; Blake Hodge of Wentzville, MO, Nathan (Lindsay) Bailey of Clark, MO, Bryce Hodge of Mexico, MO, Zachary Bailey of Camdenton, MO, Sydney Bailey of McClure, IL, and Kailyn Bailey of Camdenton, MO, Great grandchildren; Jayden Hodge of Camdenton, MO, Brayson Hodge of Mexico, MO, Benton Bailey of Clark, MO, Addler Bailey of Clark, MO, Trayden Hodge of Mexico, MO, Clarke Bailey of Clark, MO, and Bentley Hodge of Mexico, MO, as well as numerous extended family and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Lori Lynn Bailey; Parents, Manford and Birdie Bailey; Brothers, Ivan and Ralph Bailey; and sisters, Zandy Edwards and Margaret Simler.
