Janita Kay Freeman

Janita Kay Freeman, 64, of Moberly, MO, went home to the Lord on Friday, May 2, 2025.

She was born on February 7, 1961, the youngest of three children born to Richard and Rena (Wood) Dale. Janita enjoyed watching racing (specifically Nascar), football (Go Chiefs!), listening to music and boxing.

Janita was preceded in death by her mother; father; brother, Jim Dale; and sister, Connie (Dale) Moutray.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Freeman; two sons, Damian (Skylar) Johnson of Jefferson City, MO, and Joshua Johnson, of Skiatook, OK; stepchildren, Josh (Erin) Freeman, of St. Louis, and Suzanne Freeman, of Moberly; nine grandchildren, Xavier, Christian, Brayden, Natalie, Gabby, Leo, Katherine, Kenedi and Dillon; and one great grandson, Benson.

The family suggests memorials be made in Janita’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly. On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, visitation will be held at Pathway Millard Funeral Chapel from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon with funeral service starting at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Shelbina Cemetery in Shelbina, MO.
