Joseph “Joe” Littleton Derboven, 74, of Huntsville, Missouri, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Joe passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Joe was born to Ernest and Ruby Derboven on December 10, 1951. He graduated from Moberly High School in 1969 and was united in marriage on August 7, 1971, to Nancy Mae Derboven.
Joseph worked for Northfolk Southern railroad for many years. His career reflected who he was at his core; a hard worker who believed in showing up, earning what you have, and doing things the right way. He was stubborn in the way that came from strong conviction, standing firm in his beliefs and never taking shortcuts. Outside of work, Joe loved the outdoors and lake life, where he found peace in nature and simple moments. His values, work ethic, and love for his family will live on through the generations he helped shape.
Joe was a devoted father to his children; Peggy (Cori) Clickner of Jacksonville, MO, Robert Ward of Huntsville, MO, Toby Derboven of Huntsville, MO, Tara Derboven of Huntsville, MO, T.J. (LeeAnn) Derboven of Huntsville, MO, and Tyler Derboven of Huntsville, MO.
He was also a proud grandfather to Josh (Paige) Benson, Jessica (Oliver) Messa, Callie (Callahan) Derboven, Tanner (Brooklynn) Derboven, Trenton Derboven, Trevor Derboven, and Tori Derboven. He was blessed with great grandchildren; Harley and Frankie Benson and Easton Derboven; loving brother, Ernie Derboven of Hunstville, MO; nephews, Thad (Sonja) Derboven, and Tony (Erica) Derboven, and best friends; Dale and Debbie Polard, as well as many extended family and friends, all of whom survive him.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Nancy Derboven; father, Ernest Derboven; mother, Ruby Derboven; niece, Aeisha Derboven Guerni; and nephew, Andrew Derboven.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel, with a memorial Service being held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel, 411 Union Ave, Moberly, MO, 65270.
