Joseph W. Derboven Sr., 71, of Moberly passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Moberly Regional Medical Center. Joseph was born on April 5, 1945 to Ernest and Ola Mae (McCart) Derboven. Joseph held several positions throughout his career which included a supervisor position with the railroad, and assembly work for Everlast. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing pool. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Elaine (Lepper) Derboven; step-sons: Ronald Wayne Cooley and Kyle Lee Cooley; brothers: James Victor Derboven, George R. Derboven, and Charles Thomas Derboven; sister, Mary Angelina Derboven Hess. Survivors include his sons: Joseph William (Dawn) Derboven Jr. of Moberly, Missouri, Melvin Keith (Jennifer) Derboven of Boonville, Missouri, and John William (Shelli) Apel of Huntsville, Missouri; special friend and companion, Nancy Shackelford and family; brothers: Martin E. Derboven and Eddie DeRigne both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark DeShon officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
