With heavy, saddened hearts we announce the passing of Karen Lynn Dennison, 67, of Cairo, MO, on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center, in Columbia, MO, surrounded by family. She leaves behind a legacy of giving, love, strength and kindness.
Karen was born on August 1,1957, in Moberly, MO, to Raymond and Betty (Halliburton) Hendren. She graduated from Cairo High School in 1975 and was united in marriage to William Dennison whom she spent 18 wonderful years with before his passing in 2008.
Karen enjoyed her grandchildren, rides in the country, spending time with family and friends, and watching Nascar. She was a huge George Strait fan and even got to meet him. Her family and friends will always remember her for her generosity, empathy for others, love of country music and anything to do with being in the country. It all started from her very early days of growing up on the farm. She loved cows, lilacs, morel mushrooms, and picking blackberries, which she enjoyed doing with her sisters, children and grandchildren. She was very proud of her grandchildren and ecstatic that she was soon going to be a great grandmother.
Karen was a two-time breast cancer survivor and a true hero in choosing to be an organ donor, helping a tremendous number of individuals in need.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Betty Hendren and husband, William Dennison.
