Kenneth Ray Rogers, age 76, of Moberly, MO, passed away surrounded by family, December 6, 2022, at Moberly Regional Medical Center in Moberly.

Kenneth Ray was born on February 5, 1946, in Higbee, MO to Merle and Lorraine Dutcher Rogers.

He graduated from Higbee High School in 1964, and from Kansas City Barber School in 1966. He retired in 2009 from the Missouri Department of Corrections where he worked as a supply truck driver. Kenneth Ray received an Outstanding Employee Award from Governor Carnahan. Kenneth Ray was a barber in Cairo and other towns for many years. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie 2669 and Moberly Moose Lodge 776; he was a Golden Eagle and served as President for 2 years and Trustee for many years.

Kenneth Ray married Becky Thomas on August 14, 1965, at the Higbee Methodist Church, in Higbee, MO.

“Appleknocker” was a socially active man who was deeply involved in PBR beer drinking and shooting pool; known as a “pool shark” as well as lots of storytelling. His family and friends will always remember him for his quick wit and BS-ing with everyone; Pabst Blue Ribbon may just go bankrupt. He kept a meticulous garden and yard. He enjoyed his dogs and Pogo will greatly miss him. Kenneth was an asphalt truck driver for Triple S Trucking, drove a school bus, worked at the coal mines and other various truck driving jobs during his lifetime.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Lorraine Rogers; parents-in-law, Russell and Doris Thomas; brother, Donald Wayne Rogers; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Kenneth Ray is survived by his wife, Becky, of Moberly, MO; children, Sherry (Joe) Heddinghaus, Tysha (Michael) Winkler, Leea (Matt) Burton, Bryan (Chassidy) Rogers, all of Moberly, MO; grandchildren, Brad (Jeni) Dean, Clark, MO, Ryan (Kimber) Dean, Columbia, MO, Amber (Jared) Gittemeier, Liberty, MO, Danielle Dean, Higbee, MO, Autumn (Charlie) Wilburn, Huntsville, MO, Taylor March, Macon, MO, Emmalee Heddinghaus, Columbia, MO, Shelton Rogers, O’Fallon, MO, Ethan March and Seth Rogers, both of Moberly, MO; 13 greatgrandchildren, Brytin, Lyla, Spencer, Audrie, Tinley, Kenzlie, Dillon, Hudson, Bentley, Shane, Reese, Beckett and Jenna; his sister, Peggy Ancell, Moberly, MO, many nieces and nephews, extended family and many close friends, including Danny and Helen Warren, David and Joni Benn and Regina and Colby Fusselman and Ronnie Dean.

A funeral service celebrating Kenneth Ray’s life has been scheduled for Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel with Interment to follow at Memorial Park, Moberly, MO. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapels.
