Kerry Conger

d. February 25, 2021

Kerry Dean Conger, 60, of Moberly, MO passed away February 25, 2021 at University Hospital in Columbia surrounded by his family. Kerry was born in Moberly, MO at the Woodland Hospital on May 26, 1960. He was a son of Ronald and Barbara Conger. He was a graduate of Westran High School where he was an active band member, he was most known by his peers for playing the drums. He was a very talented drummer for his entire life. For the people who know Kerry, he is playing the drums in heaven and giving everyone a good show. After graduation he played the drums in many jam sessions with friends and many dance bands in the area. He spent 3 years in the U S Navy on the US Ranger Air Craft Carrier. His ship traveled all over the world. After coming home from the U S Navy in 1984 he worked for NEMO coal mine for several years. During that time, he met his wife Tammy who he married Christmas Eve in 1988. After a few years of marriage, they had their first daughter, Kellie in October of 1990, then four years later in August of 1994 they had their second daughter, Kallan. During that time, he worked for a chemical hazardous waste company USPCI that flew him all over the U S for several years. After the main office in KC closed and moved to Oklahoma, he began his career with Thomas Hill Water Department in Moberly for over 13 years until he later retired in 2009. Kerry had many hobbies, one of his favorites was Trout fishing at Bennett Springs. His daughter Kallan said, “she thinks if there is a Bennet Springs in Heaven that's where you will find him”. He had many other fishing holes he loved to go to when he was able. He told lots of fishing stories, some you could believe and some were questionable. He also loved to go deer hunting and turkey hunting with his dad and brother for many years. Kerry loved life and loved people. He was a free spirit 70's kid that loved all classic rock music. If you were to ask Kerry what his fondest memories were, it would be the years of him raising his two girls Kellie, Kallan and his bonus kids, Erica and Derek Buntin. Most recently his best memories would be watching his "little boy" his 6-year-old grandson, Brayden growing up. He was quite a story teller and had many to tell about people he had met while in medical facilities hearing their life stories and finding that some of them had worse medical problems than he had. Some of these patients he kept in touch with over the years. Kerry is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy Conger of Moberly; two daughters, Kellie Cashatt (Bryan) of Moberly, Kallan Conger of Columbia; his parents, Ronald and Barbara Conger of Huntsville; one sister, Leslie Koenigsfeld of Columbia; one brother, Kurt Conger (Lisa) of Clifton Hill; his nieces, Chiera Conger of Moberly, Shonelle Best (Jacob) of Clifton Hill; two great nephews, Lane Best and Tristin Best and one great niece, Souleena Best. He is also survived by his most cherished grandson, Brayden Cashatt along with his Aunt Betty of St. Joseph, Aunt Luella Conger of Hallsville, Aunt Janice Jeffries of Chillicothe and Aunt Sherry Bruch (Joe) of Cameron and cousins, Randy Jeffries (Terri), Larry Jeffries (Tracy), Venita Jeffries, Courtney Bruch, Matt Bruch, Dwayne Conger (Sedel), Juanita Jennings, Jean Ann Williams (Jeff), Rick Moore (Ann) and Lloyd Johnson (Kim).
