Larry Dean Johnson Senior, 71, of Moberly, Missouri passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Larry was born on February 23, 1949 in Fayette, Missouri to William Everett Johnson and Mallie Ann (Gravitt) Johnson. After high school, Larry served honorably in the United States Navy until 1972 as PN3. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and Navy Unit Commendation. He then went to work at Moberly Corrections Center, where he worked for more than 10 years. Larry was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In his free time, he loved hunting and fishing. His family will always remember him for his great sense of humor and his terrific cooking skills. He was always willing to help anyone, anywhere, in any way that he could. Larry was a great man, who will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mallie Johnson, and brother, William E. (Bill) Johnson. Larry is survived by his children, Larry (Tina Fay) Johnson Jr. of Huntsville, Missouri, and Paula Johnson of Moberly, Missouri; grandchildren, Jacob and Kenzie Johnson, Sabrina Kay Johnson and Brittney Nicole Johnson, all of Huntsville, Missouri, great- grandson, Case Ryan Johnson of Huntsville, Missouri; siblings, Liz (Mike) Baumgarden of Wheatland, Fern Storm of Gardner, Kansas, Connie (Dan) Schlipf of Macon, Missouri and Eddie Johnson of Moberly, Missouri, extended family and close friends. Services celebrating Larry Dean Johnson’s life will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Missouri State Veteran Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri, with full military honors. Memorial contributions are appreciated to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 Pathway Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
