Leroy C. Shannon

Leroy C. “Pete” Shannon, 94 of Moberly, passed away Thursday March 17, 2011 at Moberly Nursing and Rehab in Moberly, Missouri. He was born February 25, 1917 at Sumner, Missouri to Lou and Sarah West Shannon. He married Mona E. Tremain August 13, 1935 in Clifton Hill, Missouri and she survives. He was a dozer operator in road construction. He was a past member of the Eagles Lodge and American Legion. He is also survived by three sons, Don Shannon of Moberly, Richard and Elizabeth Shannon of Madison, Mo., and Monty Shannon of Cole City, Il., six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded by his parents, one son, four brothers and four sisters. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday March 21, 2011 at the Million-Taylor Funeral Home in Moberly and Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service with Burial at Lakeside Cemetery in Sumner, Mo. Family suggests Memorials to V.F.W. in Moberly.
