Linda Mae Downs

Linda Mae Downs, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation in Moberly, Missouri.

Linda was born to Weldon and Mary Louise Cunningham on November 6, 1947, in Keytesville, Missouri. She graduated from Pilot Grove High School in Pilot Grove, Missouri.

On December 21, 1986, Linda married Glen Downs in Phoenix, Arizona. Together they shared nearly 40 years of marriage filled with many wonderful adventures. Linda and Glen especially loved traveling in their diesel pusher motorhome, boating on various lakes, fishing, and camping. They recently moved from Phoenix to Moberly to be closer to family.

Linda truly enjoyed life. She loved playing games and cards, cooking for her family, and spending time with the people she cared about. Throughout the years, Linda also enjoyed working retail, where she worked for over 40 years at Target and Mattingly’s. She had a special love for animals, especially cats, and held a particular place in her heart for her beloved Maine Coon, Sheba. Linda also enjoyed attending Heritage Baptist Church in Moberly.

Linda had a huge heart and so much love to give. Her warmth and love for life will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Downs; son, Jack West of Boonville, Missouri; stepchildren, John Downs (Jeannine), and Carrie Weaver; grandchildren, Dakota West (Maggie), Chloe Lewis (DeAundre), Liam Downs, and Lily Downs; sisters, Maxine Jordan (Boyd) and Joyce Rasmussen; as well as numerous great- grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Weldon and Mary Louise; and siblings, Carl Cunningham and Leslie Cunningham; and brother in law Lawrence Rasmussen.
