Linda Louise Gensert, born on December 26, 1946, peacefully passed away on June 8, 2026. Throughout her life, Linda was a woman of kindness and warmth, always thinking of others and blessing those around her with a smile that could brighten any room.

Linda’s life was marked by her love and devotion to family. She married Gerald Gensert in November of 1985 in Jefferson City, Missouri. Their union was filled with memories and adventures until his passing.

Linda found joy in sewing, shopping, cooking, and most cherished of all, visiting with friends and family.

She is survived by her children: Steve and Chris Hilke of Cairo, Missouri, Chris and Renae Hilke of Wardsville, Missouri, Lisa and Ryan Williamson of Eolia, Missouri, and Kevin Hilke. Her cherished grandchildren: Tia Hilke of Cairo, Missouri, Jace Chapman of Cairo, Missouri, Cody and Erin Hilke of Saint Augusta, Minnesota, Courtney and Jacob Galloway of Wardsville, Missouri, Linda Lou Hilke of St. Louis, Missouri, Kaleb Nichols of Lake Rainier, Washington; Shelby Williamson of Eolia, Missouri; and Jayden Williamson of Eolia, Missouri. She was also a proud great-grandmother to seven beloved great-grandchildren.

Her siblings; Debbie Polson of Moberly, Missouri, Alan Taylor of Stillwater, Minnesota, Daryl and Donna Taylor of Atlanta, Missouri, Tammy and Fred Weddington of Osage City, Missouri, and Donna and Marty Yates of Kansas City, Missouri. Linda was also dearly loved by numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John B. Mickelis and Violet S. Clardy; her beloved husband, Gerald Gensert; her siblings; Joe Mickelis, and Peggy Mickelis; and her granddaughter, Shanelle Hilke Nattier. Their memories remain etched in the hearts of all who knew them.

Linda Louise Gensert leaves behind a legacy defined by compassion, love, and a life well-lived. She will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know her gentle spirit and warm smile.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 beginning at Noon at Cairo Christian Church located at 104 Baker Street, Cairo, MO, 65239. The family will hold a private burial at a later date.
