Linda Sue Minnis, 70, of Moberly, MO, went home to the Lord on Monday, January 12, 2026. She was born on July 27,1955, to Clifford E. and Margie E. (Bivens) Pennington in Carrol County, Missouri.
Linda attended Bosworth Missouri High School, and soon after became a homemaker and loving mother. She was united in marriage to Porter Minnis from 1973 until 1989. Her spirit was as vibrant as her passions; she had a big heart that resonated with kindness, and a love for dancing that filled her home with joy. Linda’s unique personality shone brightly in all her endeavors, whether she was sewing, painting, or tending to her garden — her hands were instruments of creation and comfort.
Linda had a multitude of hobbies and interests. She took great joy in painting, landscaping, and gardening where each flower she planted was a testament to her nurturing spirit. Moments spent relaxing in the sun on her swing or reveling in the beauty of bird watching were special to her heart. She loved to engage in lively conversations with family and friends. Linda had an eye for collectibles, a passion that manifested in her cherished collection of butterflies, crosses, angels, and elephants, each piece telling a story of its own.
Linda is survived by her children, Richard Minnis of Centralia, MO, Jason (Stacy) Minnis of Polo, MO, Kenneth Minnis of Waverly, MO, Crystal Minnis of Chillicothe, MO, and Felicia Minnis of Moberly, MO; siblings, Patricia (Pete) Lutrel of Hallsville, MO, Sandra (Clint) Collier of Millersburg, MO, and Debbie McDonald of Cairo, MO, as well as 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, Danny Craig, and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Margie Pennington; sisters, Donna (Allen) Tucker and Shirley Breden; brothers, Roger and Ronnie Pennington; and grandson, Logan Minnis.
"Bye" was not in Linda's vocabulary; instead, the family always said "later," for it was their belief that they would see each other again, even in death, they know they will see her again in Heaven.
A graveside service will be held in Linda's honor on the 16th of January, 2026, at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Madison, Missouri, at 11:00 AM and concluding at 12:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the remarkable life of this beloved soul who touched so many hearts.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, 411 Union Avenue, Moberly, MO 65270 (660)263-7284. Condolences may be left online for the family at www. pathwaymemorial. com.
