It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martha Ann Imbler. On Sunday, June 22, 2025, Martha was called home to be with the Lord, surrounded by the love of her family.
Martha was born on July 22, 1942, in Maryville, Missouri, to Donald and Bessie “Pauline” Masters. She pursued her passion for education by attending Southwest Baptist College in 1962 and later earned her teaching degree from Northeast Missouri State College in 1964. Following her graduation, Martha settled in Huntsville, Missouri, where she taught mathematics in the Westran and Moberly school districts.
In 1979, Martha married the love of her life, Gene Imbler. Together, they shared a love for travel, taking many motorcycle trips to California, and enjoyed operating HAM radios.
Martha was an active member of NARVRE, First Baptist Church, and The Bowling Association. She cherished time spent with family and friends and found joy in crocheting blankets for loved ones, painting and selling ceramics, attending craft shows, bowling, reading, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, and watching Wheel of Fortune. Martha also enjoyed selling Avon and frequently ordered from QVC. Martha will be fondly remembered for her kindness and the thoughtful, one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts she gave each year.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Bessie “Pauline” Masters; her sister, Donna (Tom) Bland; her husband, Gene Imbler; her first husband, Elmer Johnson; stepdaughter, Karen Imbler; stepsons, Rodney and Buddy Imbler; and step-grandson, Darrin Imbler.
Martha is survived by her brother, Sam (Phyllis) Masters; niece, Stacy (Michael) McCrary; nephew, Chad (Joan) Masters; and great-nephews and a great-niece. Martha is also survived by her beloved stepfamily, whom she treated as her own: Brenda (Phil) Hess, Lynn (Jill) Imbler, Cheryl (Patt) Stansberry, and Terri (Ricky) Richardson. Martha leaves behind eight grandchildren—Jill (Craig) Head, Charity (Kevin) Meyer, Stewart (Emily) Imbler, Emily (Mark) Perkins, Derek (Mae) Goon, Greg Stansberry, Jessie (Brandon) Wehmeier, Nicole (Kyle) Swartzendruber, and Shane (Starla) Imbler—along with fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
