Martha "Sue" Rockett

Martha “Sue” Rockett, 74, of Higbee, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at her home in Higbee.

Sue was born on March 6, 1951, in Higbee, Missouri to Olan & Sara (Burton) Robb. She grew up on the family farm southwest of Higbee and graduated from Higbee High School in 1969. She was a founding member of Southern Randolph Christian Chapel.

Sue spent the majority of her working years as a collector, retiring from Leaf in 2017. She was a hard worker and set a high standard for all those around her. She was also a dedicated mother, making many sacrifices while raising Jennifer and Jamie, sometimes being tough but her actions always showed her love for them. She exhibited great strength and perseverance during her 6-year battle with cancer. Sue’s greatest joy was being a grandmother, and she was proud of all five of her grandchildren and took any opportunity to brag about each of them.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Olan & Sara (Burton) Robb; both sets of grandparents, Willie & Iva Robb and Joseph & Ruby Burton; and nephew David Spilman.

She is survived by daughter, Jennifer (Stephen) Genova; son James “Jamie” (Morgan) Rockett; grandchildren, Sophia Genova, Elaina Genova, Derek Rockett, Andrew Genova, and Kiersten Rockett; and sister, Janice (John) Spilman.

A funeral service celebrating Sue’s life has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 10:00 am at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, Moberly, Missouri, with burial to follow at Higbee Cemetery, Higbee, MO. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, Moberly, Missouri. Memorial donations can be made to Southern Randolph Christian Chapel or Honduras Ministries.
