Mary H. Prewett, 73 of Harrisburg, MO, passed away at home on May 3, 2021 with her family at her side. She was born on January 2, 1948 in Kirksville, MO to Lewis Edward Bass and Freda Jane Gillispie Bass. Mary attended High School in Novinger, MO. On January 27, 1981 she married Robert Prewett in Kirksville, MO and the two shared 40 wonderful years together. Mary worked for Weld Racing in Kansas City, MO for several years and later Otscon until she retired at age 62. Her most important job titles were wife, mother and grandmother. She and Bob relocated in Harrisburg, MO around 2006 to be closer to family. Mary was an avid gardener of both flowers and vegetables. She liked to go fishing and mushroom hunting. Mary enjoyed a good glass of wine and loved, loved, loved to read. She always wanted to be first in line at the library for new releases. Mary had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and several siblings. She is survived by her husband, Bob Prewett of Harrisburg, MO; her daughters, Patty (Mark) Wilcoxson of Harrisburg, MO, Jennifer (Danny) Berry of Columbia, MO, Lynn (Jeff) Pollard of Kansas City, MO and Bobbi Wood of Columbia, MO; beloved grandchildren, Alisha (Daniel) Timbrook, Cortney (Johnny) Adkisson, Krista Wilcoxson, Aron (Taulor) Furlong, Shane Wilcoxson, Hayden Rowland, Addison Furlong, Domonic (Sarah) Kagenski, Jade Wood, Julius Wood and Janika Wood; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Martha (Jim) Ebert, Marie (Jack) Maize and Marilyn (Jerry) Reed all of Kirksville, MO and James Bass of Springfield, MO; extended family and many good friends. A memorial service celebrating Mary’s life will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly, MO. Condolences may be shared online at pathwaymemorial.com.
