Michael Douglas Fusselman

Michael Douglas Fusselman, 70, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, after a two-year battle with cancer.

He was born on December 20, 1955, in Moberly, Missouri. The son of Terrence Patrick Fusselman Sr. and Mary Ann Fusselman.

Michael graduated from St. Pius X Catholic School in 1970, and Moberly High School in 1974. He completed his studies at Moberly Area Junior College in 1976 and went on to further his education at Truman State University, in the Criminal Justice Program.

After college he became a patrolman for the Moberly Police Department and moved up to detective. In 1984 he entered Law School at the University of Missouri Kansas City and earned his Juris Doctor in 1988. After graduation Michael worked at the Hulen, Tatlow and Gump law firm, then served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Boone County before winning the election in 1990 to become Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney, a post he held for 28 years. After completing his final term in office, he spent the last 8 years handling legal work for the Randolph County Juvenile Office.

Mike was united in marriage to Peggy Stuhlman on June 20, 1987, in Palmyra, Missouri. He was a devoted family man and strong supporter of the Moberly Area Soccer Association, with all three of his daughters participating after the league’s formation in 1989. He was a member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church and was involved in various community agencies over the years.

Mike loved to grow things, nurturing various plants around his home and tending small gardens at his father’s farm. He and Peggy also enjoyed traveling for their children’s sporting events as well as seeing different attractions around the country. For many years he was chief fireworks organizer for the family’s annual 4th of July get together, always looking for the next spectacular grand finale.

Mike is survived by his wife, Peggy, of the home; daughters, Kelsey Calloway (Eric) of New Braunfels, TX, Eryn Buckner (Donal) of Columbia, MO, and Taylor Allard (Wes) of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Jaxson and Kinslee Buckner, and Ellie Allard; his father, Terrence; and brothers, Harvey, Timothy (Rosemarie), David, Christopher (Julia), and Steven (Jenny); sister in law, Valerie Fusselman; nephews, Ryan Fusselman (Jenny), Terrence Fusselman (Dani), Eric Fusselman, Brian Stuhlman ( Maryna), Tyler Stuhlman (Beth); nieces, Niki Kroeger (Matt), Laura Peiter (Matt), Amanda Clark (David) Kate Setter (Jeff), Carrie Richter (Ryan), Jessica Rutherford (Stephen), and Megan Murray (Seth); brother in laws, Larry (Lee Ann), Gary (Ellen), and Greg ( Cindy) Stuhlman and many numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann; and brother, Terrence Patrick Fusselman Jr.

Visitation for Michael will be held at Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday September 17, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Friday September 18, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Moberly, Missouri.

Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Moberly, Missouri.
