Michael Ivan Lucas

Oct 5, 1980 — Jul 10, 2026

Michael “Mike” Ivan Lucas, age 45, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026.

A lifelong resident of Moberly, Mike was born on October 5, 1980, to Dale Eugene Lucas and Teresa “Terri” Ann Foos. He graduated from Moberly High School with the Class of 1999. On his journey through life, Mike was defined by his brilliant mind, his curiosity, and the deep, enduring friendships he forged everywhere he went.

Throughout his career, Mike held only a few positions, but at each stop, his colleagues truly became his extended family. For over 15 years, he worked at Art’s Appliance and Furniture, where he handled car stereo sales and remote start installations until 2015. He then transitioned into information technology, accepting a position with Leaf Financial. Through a series of company acquisitions, Mike’s sharp intelligence and specialized skills remained highly sought after, allowing him to consistently grow within the business. Most recently, he served as an Infrastructure Analyst II on the Workforce Enablement Solutions team with M&T Bank. He developed such deep friendships with his coworkers there that they regularly scheduled gaming nights together.

Mike embraced technology his entire life. In his younger years, he was known to take apart the family computer just to see if he could put it back together again. He even engaged in a little "minor" hacking to save or make money, always using tech as a tool for constant learning. Mike pursued many hobbies over the years, all driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge. He was always researching, trying to figure out how things worked, anticipating the next upcoming tech trend, or simply learning for the sake of knowing. His diverse interests included import cars, gaming, home improvement, trying new foods, and keeping an eye on the weather.

Closer to home, Mike dedicated his time to supporting the Moberly Area Soccer Association (MASA). He served on the board, helped coach the Storm team, and continued to maintain and support the MASA website long after his board term ended. Through soccer, he developed deep, lasting bonds with fellow coaches and board members. Meanwhile, his gaming hobby connected him to an entire community of friends across the world, stretching from Michigan and Canada to Kansas City and the Northeast.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Dale Lucas; his grandmother, Judith Foos; and his great-grandparents, Roy T. and Anna Boots.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Amy (Hanley) Lucas; his children, Christian Lucas (Lylah Shannon), Cameron Lucas, and Caden Lucas; his grandfather, Ivan Foos; his mother, Teresa “Terri” Lucas; and his sister, Katie (Kevin) Hull. He also leaves behind his nephews, Liam Lewis, Alex Hull, and Ethan Hull; his nieces, London Hull and Raegan Hull; and an immense circle of heartbroken aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
