Oliver Nichols

Oliver “Bud” Nichols, 83, of Higbee, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO. Bud was born on September 30, 1931 in Columbia, MO to Joseph Lawrence Nichols and Nellie Francis Carlos Nichols. He married Mary Hughes on June 27,1953 in Huntsville, MO and she survives of the home. He worked for Toastmaster and its predecessors for 45 of the 65 years he lived in the Randolph County area. Bud was a member of the Higbee Masons, Lodge 527, the Coon Creek Shrine Club and the York Right Bodies. He was an avid fisherman, a huge Cardinals fan and loved watching Westerns on television. Bud is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mary Nichols of Higbee, MO; his son, Mark Nichols (Shirley Olney) of Moberly, MO; his beloved grand-daughters, Logan Elizabeth Nichols of Columbia, MO and Alaina Marie Nichols of Warrensburg, MO; and his siblings Laura Sagner of Moberly, MO and Edward Nichols of Oralndo, FL as well as many friends. Services celebrating Bud’s life will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly, MO. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Masonic Rites at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Higbee Masonic Lodge, 127 Thompson, Moberly, MO 65270 or St. Judes Childrens’ Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
