Patricia Ann Bush

Patricia Ann Bush, 79, of Huntsville, MO, lost her fight with cancer on August 15, 2025. Pat was born on June 28, 1946, in Macon, MO, to Dean and Bruna Hughes. On August 21, 1965, Pat married Gary Bush at Immaculate Conception Church in Macon, MO, and soon after, Pat and Gary started their own beloved family.

Pat completed her undergraduate studies at Northeast Missouri State with a bachelor’s degree in education, and later, while raising a family, completed her master’s degree in religious education at Loyola University. Pat was an accomplished teacher in several local communities, and helped Gary, her husband, successfully operate a local paint store, Bush's House of Color, for many years. Pat dedicated over two decades to St. Pius X church and served as the Director of Religious Education, helping countless people along their faith journey.

Pat was a lover of plants and an avid gardener. Her yard and her flowers were her happy place. Pat enjoyed traveling, camping, and sightseeing with Gary. She enjoyed entertaining guests in the “she-shed,” hosting family celebrations, and decorating for all the holidays. Pat loved to read, encouraged education, and a life of learning for all. Pat shared her faith and love for God daily. Pat was a friend to all, setting an example we all hope to follow, showing her grace and gentle spirit to everyone.

Pat is survived by her husband, Gary; children, Michael Bush, Amanda (Victor) Benitez, Jennifer (Nathan) Gelina, and Nathan (Kaylyn) Bush; brother, Fred (Angela) Hughes; Sister-in-law, Ruth Hughes; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her son, Aaron, and her brothers, Eddie and Joseph Hughes.

A family led visitation will be held on August 30, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 A.M at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Moberly, MO. A family led funeral service celebrating Pat's life will follow directly after at 11:00 A.M.
