Patricia Mae Dodd

March 21, 1960 — December 5, 2022

Patricia Mae Dodd, age 62, of Huntsville, MO, went home to be with the Lord on December 5, 2022, surrounded by family members at her home.

Patty was born on March 21, 1960, in Moberly, MO, to Charles K. Gravitt and Dolores M. Harris. She opted to stay home at the age of 15 to help take care of her brothers and sister.

She married David George Dodd, Sr. on August 31, 1976, in Huntsville, MO. She accepted a position as cook at Westran Elementary School, where she worked for more than 28 years. Patty was a member of The Penecostal Church, and was a great mother, grandmother, wife, and a wonderful cook.

Patty was a social, active woman who was deeply involved in her church. She loved spending time with the ladies at church, cooking family meals, sending photos of the meals-so you would come over to eat, baking no bakes for people, watching church online, going to church, writing bible verses, and then tacking them up all around the house.

Her family will always remember that her response when you had a problem would be “just pray”, or “you need Jesus”. She was kindhearted, always smiled, was quite a jokester and loved her nativity scenes. She loved driving by the church when the snow hit the ground, and she could talk for hours about how pretty it was. She also had a thing for Command Strips…she thought they would help with anything!

Patty is preceded in death by her mother, Dolores M. Gravitt; brother, Darrell Gene Gravitt; sister, Bonnie Sue Gravitt; and son, Charles Kenneth Dodd.

She is survived by her husband, David Sr., Huntsville, MO; father, Charles K. Gravitt, Moberly, MO; children, Angela (Ken) Naylor, Huntsville, MO, David Dodd, Jr., Huntsville, MO, Kayla Hayden, Moberly, MO, and Alicia Dodd, Huntsville, MO; grandchildren, Nathan and Preston Naylor, Huntsville, MO, Kaitlyn Osman, Rolla, MO, Skyler Dodd, Moberly, MO, Ryan, Lyndzee, Zachary and Wyatt Dodd, Huntsville, MO, John Winterbower, Centralia, MO, Kyle Naylor, Moberly, MO and one lovingly expected great-grandchild, Huntsville, MO; siblings, Gary and David Lee Gravitt, Moberly, MO, and Sandra Prewitt, Moberly, MO, Aunt Doris (sister-in-law and best friend), Pastor Dustyn Tallman (nephew) and extended family and many close friends.
