Randall Keith Smith, 70, of Higbee, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 27, 1955, in Moberly, Missouri to Robert and Wilma Smith, Randy was a remarkable individual whose spirit touched countless lives. A proud graduate of Higbee High School, he embraced a life rich in friendships and community involvement.

In 1973 Randy married DeLora LeAn McWilliams, a day that marked the beginning of a beautiful journey, Together, they raised their family, fostering a home filled with warmth, laughter and love.

Randy worked for the Randoph County Sheriff Dept for 17 years before retiring in 2021.

Randy's zest for life was evident in his love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling, which allowed him to connect with nature and with those he cherished most. Sunday dinners were a special day, where family gathered around the table, sharing stories, laughter, and an appreciation of one another's company. Randy's grandchildren were the center of his life. When they were present, everything stopped and it was Papa and them.

A man of the community, Randy was actively involved in several organizations, including the Coon Creek Shrine Club, Moberly Masonic Lodge, and the Higbee Rural Fire Department. He also contributed to the Higbee Lions Club and the Higbee Booster Club, always finding ways to lend a helping hand and make a positive impact. His friendly demeanor and genuine warmth meant he never met a stranger; each encounter was greeted with a cheerful "Hello" and a "You have a good day!".

Randy is survived by his wife, LeAn Smith of Higbee, MO; Son, Robert "Bobby" (Shelly) Smith; Daughter, Lisa Smith (BJ) Westfall, both of Higbee, MO; Grandchildren, Keaton Smith, Jamie Smith, Grace (John) Schell and Billie Jo Westfall all of Higbee, MO; Great granddaughter, Raelyn Jo Schell of Higbee, MO; Sisters, Rhonda (Mark) Olson of Moberly, MO, and Susan Wooten of Excello, MO; Brother, James Taylor of Iowa; sister in laws, Brenda Smith of Higbee, MO, and LuAn (Doug) Chesshir of Columbia, MO, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Davis Smith and mother, Wilma F. Taylor, as well as his stepfather, Bennie Taylor and brother Robbie Smith.

Randy's passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him, but his legacy will undoubtedly live on through the memories he created and the lives he touched.

Funeral services for Randy will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 , 12:00 noon at the Higbee Cowboy Bible Church, 9603 Hwy B, Higbee, MO. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 12 noon concluding with a Masonic Service.
