Raymond Sharp

Raymond Eugene Sharp, 87, of Moberly, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation. Raymond was born February 16, 1930 in Higbee to George Raymond Sharp and Rosette Smith Sharp. He was a graduate of Higbee High School. On May 27,1950, he married Ethlyn Jo Mason. Raymond joined the United States Army in January of 1952 and served honorably until his discharge in December of 1953. He then took a job working for the Wabash and Northwestern railroads. Raymond was a racing fan and knew several of the local drivers personally. He also enjoyed gardening. Those preceding Raymond in death are his parents; his brother, Dale Sharp and his sister, Rose Robbins. Survivors include his wife Ethlyn Jo of Moberly; his children, Raymond Sharp Jr. and wife Susan of Moberly and Randy Sharp and wife Jennifer of Jefferson City; five wonderful grandchildren; 4 incredible great grandchildren; siblings, Corrine Locktosh of Las Vegas, Ronnie Sharp and wife Barbara of Moberly and Orpha Grimsley and John of Higbee; nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Services celebrating Raymond’s life will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
