Richard Dean Skinner

January 27, 1965 — April 10, 2026

Moberly

Richard Dean Skinner of Moberly, MO, returned to God’s arms on Friday, April 10, 2026. He was born on January 27, 1965, to Anna Thomure and William Skinner.

God knew his plan for sending our family Richard. He was born special with Down Syndrome. He never knew limitations in his life. Richard was a task master, lawn mower, everyone’s helper, and Santa Claus. He would sing with Elvis, Oak Ridge Boys, Alabama, and Gospel. Opening weekend of deer season was one of his favorites. Richard would have lots of snacks packed to have while hunting. He had no trouble shooting his own deer and celebrating with all of us. Richard loved parties and family celebrations. He always had his camera and took the best pictures. Most of all, Richard loved his family, Jesus, and Mary mother of God. He showed everyone how to love unconditionally and unselfishly.

Richard is survived by his sisters, Martha Eastman and Rita House; brothers, Raymond (Helen) Skinner and Roy (Patricia) Skinner; and a host of nieces, nephews and family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Larry Skinner; and sister Linda Burlage.

God does not make mistakes. All, especially those with special needs are created and loved by Him.
