Robert Dale Boswell

Robert Dale Boswell, 83, of Madison, MO, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, October 20, 2025, with his family at his side.

Dale was born in Moberly, MO, the middle child born to Robert Guy and Sarah Helen (Alderson) Boswell on August 6, 1942. Dale Graduated from Moberly High School in 1960.

Dale was married to his high school sweetheart, Jeanie, in 1961, right out of high school, which formed a strong union that stood the test of 63 years. Dale and Jeanie held true to their vows of ‘til death do us part.” The marriage blessed them with four children, Suzanne and Mike Schmidt of Moberly, MO, Robyn Boswell of Lewiston, ME, Rita Boswell of Madison, MO, and Robert Dale Boswell Jr., now deceased.

Dale worked for Norfolk and Southern Railroad, farmed and had several different jobs around the Moberly and Madison area. He moved to Montrose, CO, where he resided for 20 years with his wife, Jeanie, and son, Robert Dale Boswell, Jr. Dale worked construction, went to school for over the road truck driving and worked for several trucking companies.

Dale is survived by his siblings, Larry and Corine Boswell of Moberly, MO, Gary and Rose Ann Boswell of AR; In-laws; Janie and John Lackey of Pocatello, ID, Jan and Leo VanStaveren of Granite Bay, CA, Jerold and Sue of Moberly, MO, Darold and Debbie of Carthage, MO, Julie and Keith Jackson of Moberly, MO; sister-in-law, Sandy Devenport of Moberly, MO, brother-in-law, Rob Orton of Florida; grandchildren, Rachael (Schmidt) and Chris Fletcher of Moberly, MO, Jessi Schmidt of Kansas City, MO, and Jackson Boswell of Lewiston, ME; two great grandsons, Brooks and Baylor Fletcher of Moberly, MO; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Boswell; father and mother-in- law, Ira Eugene (Gene) and Dorothy (Devenport) Simpson; wife, Jeanie Vee Boswell; son, Robert Dale Boswell Jr.; grandson Michael (Mikey) Herbert Schmidt Jr, and Aaron Robert Arnhart along with in-laws, Harold Devenport, Jackie Devenport-Orton and Merold Devenport.

At Dales’ request, there are no services planned.
