Robert Edward Dotson, 87, of Moberly passed away February 1, 2020 at Moberly Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 2, 1932 in St. Louis, MO to the late Hiram Robert Dotson and Gladys Phares Dotson. Bob married Ann Elizabeth in 1954 and the two raised their three children and spent many happy years together before Ann passed in September of 2013. Bob moved from O’Fallon, MO in 1998 and made the Moberly Area his home for over 20 years. He worked in commercial construction, as a pipefitter, latherer and carpenter. He worked for the Airport, Missouri Botanical Garden and Zoo in St. Louis, and for the Pacific and Potosi Missouri Prisons. Bob was a hard worker and valued employee. He held the position of foreman or supervisor on most of the jobs he worked. He always pitched in to help. Bob volunteered at church and many school functions and fundraisers for his daughters. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending as much time as he could with his family. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, his brother, Arthur and sister, Thelma. Survivors include his children, Roy Dotson of Moberly, Rita (Walt) Snyder of Macon and Robin (Ken) Knepler of Moberly; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Lilburn Dotson of Cottleville, MO and Betty Hendrix of Pasadena, TX; extended family and close friends. Services celebrating Bob’s life will be held Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
